What is Chi Alpha you may ask?

Chi Alpha is a campus ministry that meets on campus every Thursday night. The core values of Chi Alpha are community, creativity, diversity, excellence, integrity and servant-leadership. The National Chi Alpha mission statement is, “We reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship and mission to transform the university, the marketplace, and the world.”

This year, WSU Chi Alpha came up with a slogan as a spin off the National Chi Alpha mission statement:

Discover. Inspire. Transform.

This slogan is now the backbone and heart behind the new WSU Chi Alpha blog. As Chi Alpha’s media ministry team leader, I am excited to share our new site with you!

The blog is going to be a compilation of writings submitted by the WSU Chi Alpha staff, student leaders, alumni, supporters, media team members and really anyone else that is a part of Chi Alpha in any way, shape, or form. The dream is that the WSU Chi Alpha blog will include all of the following:

  • Personal stories
  • Advice from alumni who are now go global workers
  • Updates from missionaries serving abroad
  • Encouragement from the churches, families and individuals that support our ministry

Our hope is that this will be a place for people to come together and share their stories of how God has worked or is currently working in their lives.

We want to set the tone for this blog by encouraging you, our readers and followers, to DISCOVER your passions in life. The things that ignite you. The things that make you come alive. The callings that have been placed on your heart. We also hope that through Chi Alpha you will discover community and friends.

Additionally, we want this blog to INSPIRE you to pursue your passions and inspire others to find theirs. Inspiration can come in many shapes and sizes, but it can be as simple as sharing an encouraging word with someone. Our hope is that this blog will speak life into you, and in return, you will speak life into others.

Overall, our desire is that this blog will stir up something deep within your soul. That a story you read or a particular quote will resonate and ignite a flame within. We pray that you will consider pursuing a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father and that you will allow Him to move in your life; allowing Him to TRANSFORM your heart and the world around you.
