However, there is one thing you can do to make your bank account (and yourself) very happy \u2013 scholarships! Here\u2019s how to go about it:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Start NOW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There isn\u2019t a better time to apply for scholarships than now, in the summer. The earlier you apply, the better chance you have to get scholarship money. Also, right now you\u2019re free of a full class load and you typically have more down time now than during the start of the school year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a02) Visit the WSU scholarship page<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go to the university\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/financialaid\/scholarships.asp\">scholarship page<\/a> to see all of the different options our university has to offer and look for answers to your questions!<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Looking for something super easy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/winona.academicworks.com\">WSU\u00a0Foundation Scholarships<\/a> that are available. Once you sign in, you can fill out your general application that will attach to scholarship applications you submit. You can also view all of your submitted applications, check their statuses and search for tons of financial opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Don\u2019t limit yourself to just WSU-specific scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Browse other sources online for scholarships! A great place to start is the <a href=\"https:\/\/bigfuture.collegeboard.org\/\">College Board<\/a>, where you can look at scholarships through the most specific or broad window you\u2019d like!<\/p>\n<p><strong>5) I\u2019ve applied \u2013 what now?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure to keep a close eye on your WSU email, as that is how most scholarship winners are announced. You can also check your \u201caward letter\u201d under the financial aid tab within your <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/registration\/search\/advanced.html?campusid=074&amp;_ga=1.42234149.1450969076.1406041390\">e-services<\/a> account.
