Most of their applications required hours of work with no guarantee of admission.<\/p>\n<p>But Winona State does things differently. By requiring less than 15 minutes of my time, the ease of WSU&#8217;s application process happily surprised me.<\/p>\n<p>For those looking to become a WSU Warrior, here are four basic steps to guide you through the application process:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_blurb title=&#8221;1. Send Your Official High School Transcript&#8221; content_max_width=&#8221;1100px&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;1. Gather Your Transcript &#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_level=&#8221;h2&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>To apply, you&#8217;ll need your official transcript from high school. You can either send it directly from your school or through another medium such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parchment.com\/\">parchment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=&#8221;2. Fill Out the Online Application&#8221; content_max_width=&#8221;1100px&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;2. You&#8217;ll be asked to log in or create a StarID, which takes less than a minute, and then go ahead and fill in your information. If you already have a StarID (from taking PSEO classes or College in the Schools CIS classes) use that one to log in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions, the <a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.winona.edu\/contact\/\">Admissions Office<\/a> is ready and excited to help you out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=&#8221;3. Contact the<a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.winona.edu\/contact\/\"> Admissions Office<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=&#8221;4. You&#8217;ll get a \u201cNo, not yet\u201d letter, but that just means we want to hear more about you. By going through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/admissions\/undergraduate\/appeal.asp\">appeal process<\/a>, you&#8217;ll get a second response from WSU.<\/p>\n<p>The appeals process includes submitting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A personal statement<\/strong> \u2013 In no more than a few pages, tell us the essentials of what you think WSU needs to know about you. Maybe you aren\u2019t great at standardized tests, for instance, which we completely understand. You\u2019re more than just a number to us, so we want to know who you are.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two letters of recommendation<\/strong> \u2013 These can be from anyone who isn\u2019t related to you. This page will give you access to first-year and transfer applications as well as helpful contact information to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/admissions\/undergraduate\/\">Admissions Office<\/a>. The admissions counselors are happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have.<\/p><h4><strong>2. You Only Need Three Things<\/strong><\/h4><p>To apply, WSU will need three things from you:<\/p><ul><li><h5>$20 application fee<\/h5><p>WSU doesn't want there to be any barriers for students who are interested in our school and has waivers available to keep it accessible to all.
