After pushing the “submit” button on the application, you may be left wondering what the next steps of the application process are. Here are six steps that you should take after applying to WSU.

1. Pay the Application Fee

After submitting the application, you will need to pay the application fee of $20. You can pay the fee online or by calling the WSU cashier at 507.457.5076. The fee may be waved in specific instances if you have a valid fee waiver request.

2. Send in Your High School Transcript

Next, you will want to ask your high school counselor how to go about sending in your official high school transcript to WSU. Your high school counselors will be of great help during the time of your application process and will be knowledgeable of different college criteria.

When I submitted my transcript last fall, my high school used a website called Parchment. This website may be used at your college as well. Transcripts can be sent to admissions@winona.edu or you may mail them to:

WSU Admissions PO Box 5838
Winona, MN 55987-5838

3. Share Your ACT or SAT Score

Next, you will need to send in your ACT or SAT score to WSU. You can go about doing this in two different ways.

Option 1: When registering for the test, you can select Winona State University so your score may go directly to WSU after you have taken the test.

Option 2: If you did not choose to send your results to WSU ahead of time, you can login to your ACT or SAT account online and request them to send your score for you. When they ask for a school code you can enter 6680 for your score to be sent to WSU.

4. Take Note of Important Dates

After you send in the application fee, official high school transcript, and ACT or SAT score, it is important to look at the important, upcoming dates. Some of these dates include:

Starting September 1, applications may be sent in for Fall 2019. After September 17, WSU will start mailing application decisions. The sooner you apply, the better!

Starting October 1, you may submit the FAFSA document. The Housing application also becomes available this day. Applying earlier will help your chances of living in the residence hall of your choice.

On October 24 and 25, you may visit WSU at the National College Fair.

These are a few dates that will hopefully help you see when information and applications are accessible.

5. Track Your Application

Once your application is complete, you may log-on to your MyWSU account to track your application. You can expect a decision letter to be sent to you around two to three weeks after submitting your application.

6. Schedule a Visit

If you are thinking about becoming a Warrior, you may want to look further into what WSU and the city of Winona have to offer. One way to do this is by attending a Choose WSU Admitted Student Day this spring.

Schedule your visit today!

Got Questions?

If you have any questions during your application process, don’t be afraid to email admissions@winona.edu. They will be able to answer any questions you may have.

Can’t wait to see you on campus next year!

Seniors, now is the time to start applying for college.
