We\u2019ve all been challenged to accept, change and adapt to quite a bit these past several months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s important to remember not to lose sight of the goodness that\u2019s to come\u2014your first year as a college student!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Understandably, you may have many questions about <strong>Move-In Day<\/strong>. The process may be a little different than you originally envisioned, but Winona State wants to make sure you have the best experience while remaining safe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, here\u2019s what you need to know about moving in during a pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Move-In-Kelsa-Myszewski-21.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;WSU student safely moving into res hall during a pandemic&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Image: Student holding moving box&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Point 1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Select a time to drop off your items<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This year, Move-In will include <strong>staggered drop-off appointments<\/strong> to ensure there are less people in one place. Using the <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/registration\/search\/advanced.html?campusid=074&amp;_ga=2.149039038.946095823.1593451357-911521583.1558025718\">Housing Portal<\/a> on eServices, you\u2019ll get to choose a <strong>two-hour time frame<\/strong> between <strong>Aug. 7 \u2013 16<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Helpers-Kelsa-Myszewski-21.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;WSU students helping each other move in during a pandemic&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Image: Move-In helpers&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Point 2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.1&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. Bring a helping hand, or two<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019ll be allowed to bring <strong>two helpers<\/strong> to move everything into your room. Regardless who comes along, your assistants must be <strong>over the age of 16<\/strong> and are encouraged to wear protective masks, especially if they aren&#8217;t fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/07\/Big-Items-Kelsa-Myszewski-21.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;WSU students dropping off large items during pandemic Move-In&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Image: Students dropping off large items&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Point 3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. Be smart with your drop-off time<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>During your drop-off appointment, you must come wearing a mask. <strong>Bring larger items with you<\/strong>, such as a mini fridge and TV. Feel free to also bring your bedding, clothes, school supplies and any decorations you won\u2019t need at home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You may not be able to perfectly set everything up in your room within two hours, but that\u2019s totally okay.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>You ultimately want to drop off your items, then:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>take measurements of your room<\/li>\n<li>brainstorm how you\u2019ll arrange your furniture<\/li>\n<li>make a list of items you want to bring back with you, such as toiletries, electronics and other smaller essentials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once your two hours are up, you must exit your room and res hall. This is another safety precaution to limit exposure.
