Wondering where to get started looking for a campus job? Or how you can get academic support? You are by no means the first to ask these questions.<\/p>\n
Here are answers to some of the top questions Ron Strege, Director of the Warrior Success Center<\/a>, is asked by students.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_blurb title=”How will WSU support me through my college journey?” content_max_width=”100%” admin_label=”Q1 Blurb” _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default” header_level=”h2″]<\/p>\n In the Warrior Success Center<\/a>, we start with you now and are with you all the way through your journey here at WSU–and even after you graduate!<\/p>\n We have people who specialize in different areas to make sure you have all the tools you need to succeed.<\/p>\n We offer academic advising<\/a>, career services<\/a>, access services<\/a> and tutoring<\/a>. You can reach WSC staff both in person and online, and we can be your go-to for any questions.<\/p>\n We have many services available at no extra cost to you. We are here to support you in your academic journey to help you succeed.<\/p>\n WSU really is like a family with its own community of support.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=”I had an IEP at my previous school. Can I get the same accommodations? To get the process started, you’ll want to register with\u00a0Access Services.<\/a><\/p>\n Once that’s complete, a staff member will reach out to set up a time to meet with you one-on-one and get the conversation started about what’s worked for you in the past and how we can help support you now.<\/p>\n We have many students at WSU who use Access Services.<\/p>\n If you had accommodations in high school and just feel the need to try without them, it’s still good to apply now. That way if down the road you need it, everything will already be set up for you.<\/p>\n Starting college is a big transition and I know some students get embarrassed and want to try college on their own. But you’re going to be faced with a lot of new challenges that you may not be ready for, so let’s be proactive and have a plan in place.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=”What kind of jobs are available on campus? How do I find them and apply?” content_max_width=”100%” admin_label=”Q3 Blurb” _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default” header_level=”h2″]<\/p>\n We have hundreds of available jobs on campus each semester including work study and student help positions. Eligibility for work study is determined through financial aid while student help positions are open to all WSU students.<\/p>\n On-campus jobs include a wide variety of work. You could work in tech support, dining services, housing and residence life, security, and library positions as well as positions within different academic departments.<\/p>\n These are only some of the examples of possible student employment, but there are many more options available.<\/p>\n
