He inherits a program that has compiled a 317-118-30 record and 11 NSIC Championships in its 23-year history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to welcome Matt to the Warrior family,\u201d said Winona State Athletic Director Eric Schoh. \u201cWe were looking for someone who could continue the championship tradition of our soccer program, while being committed to developing student-athlete success in the classroom and community. I\u2019m confident that Matt\u2019s 15 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level will allow him to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kellogg\u2019s previous head coaching experience includes a three-year tenure at the University of North Dakota; three years at Ferris State, where he inherited a 3-13-3 team and guided them to a 9-7-3 record in 2012, with appearances in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament each of his three seasons; and a single season at Kalamazoo College.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran coach also held previous positions as assistant women\u2019s soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at two NCAA Division I schools, the University of Kentucky and Morehead State (Ky.). In 2009, Kellogg\u2019s lone season at Morehead State, the Eagles captured the program\u2019s first-ever Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship with a 5-0-3 conference record (8-7-4 overall).<\/p>\n<p>Kellogg graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis and was a two-year letter winner on the soccer team. He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National B License and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Goalkeeping Certificate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to being part of the Warrior soccer program, the athletic department, and Winona State University as a whole,\u201d Kellogg said. \u201cI\u2019m excited for the challenge of continuing to lead this program in the right direction with sustained success on the field and in the classroom.
