They set a new program record for wins (with an overall record of 53-9), they won the NSIC regular-season championship in back-to-back years for the first time in program history<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(recording the first-ever 30-0 conference record in NSIC history)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and they set a new program record with a 31-game winning streak during the season. And at the season\u2019s end, head coach Greg Jones had accumulated 800 career wins.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In May, the Warri<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">or<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s hosted the NCAA Central Regional tournament for the second straight season<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0in Winona<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and fourth time overall \u2013 while making their 14<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0NCAA Regional appearance.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hile they made it to the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">championship game\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">of the tournament, they ultimately fell 3-2 to Augustana University, who\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">went on to win the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Before the season even began, two of the team\u2019s players \u2013 Jordyn\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kleman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Lani<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Van Zyl \u2013 were named by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association\/Schutt Sports\u2019 2019 Division II National Player of the Year Watch List, setting up some promising expectations for the year. When the season concluded and the postseason awards began rolling in, the list of honors bestowed upon the Warriors was impressive:<\/span><span Over the summer, WSU partnered with Daktronics to install a new LED videoboard and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sportsound<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00ae 1500HD audio system in the stadium, making it one of the first collegiate installations to include 10-millimeter SMD outdoor technology and the largest display Daktronics has installed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The new display measures approximately 23 feet high by 41 feet wide, bringing 930 square feet of live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics, sponsorship messages and more to WSU fans before, during and after events.
