Psst! Like free money? Love WSU? Then do we have a contest for you!

You’ve probably gotten tons of emails in the past about contests held on-campus. You’ve probably even heard of this contest too, only it’s gotten a little face-lift with the New Year.

But before you make a mad dash to exit your browser, here’s a quick guide to a fun and easy contest new to this semester—trust me, this is something to pay attention to:

Drum roll, please… #WSUPurpleFridays

What Is It?

#WSUPurpleFridays is a weekly social media contest where you simply take a selfie while wearing WSU gear on Fridays and post it to

with the hashtag that’s in the contest name. FYI: Make sure to set your preferences to public so your post won’t be missed.

Who’s It Open To?

This contest is open to all WSU students (looking at you too, WSU-Rochester Campus!), faculty, staff and alumni. Everyone has the chance to show off their favorite piece of Winona apparel and represent our special community.

What’s In It For Me?

Not only is this a great opportunity to show your Warrior Pride and build tradition on campus, but also you have the chance to win prizes.

For students and alumni: you can win a $20 VISA gift card.

For employees: you can win a $5 VISA gift card.

Don’t pass up this shot at scoring some spending money. It’s easy, fun and all you have to do is strike a pose—there’s nothing to it!
