University student services staff\u2019s main role is to guide students through their development in college.<\/p>\n<p>The college advisor\u2019s focus is to meet the needs of individual students daily.\u00a0 These needs can include course planning, registration, time management, transfer support, FAFSA\/financial information, and more.\u00a0 Advisors do this work because they are helpers, and they care about their all their students.\u00a0 Many times, the caseloads are over 800 students.\u00a0 Imagine the dedication this takes!<\/p>\n<p>The time that it takes to support their students means that advisors also need to make sure they are taking care of their own wellness.\u00a0 For individuals in the helping professions, it is easy to put others before themselves.\u00a0 According to the<a href=\"https:\/\/globalwellnessinstitute.org\/what-is-wellness\/\"> Global Wellness Institute<\/a>, wellness is an \u201cactive pursuit.\u201d\u00a0 To ensure that individuals are taking care of their whole self, wellness should be incorporated into our daily lives.<\/p>\n<p>To make certain that the wonderful college advisors are celebrated and taking time for their own wellness, Winona State University \u2013 Rochester assembled Advisor Thank You Boxes for each community college advisor in SE Minnesota and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The items include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/rochester\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/WSU-R-Quick-tips-digital.pdf\">Transfer Admissions Quick Tips Sheet<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Kind Bar<\/li>\n<li>Stress Ball<\/li>\n<li>Journal<\/li>\n<li>Colored Pencils &amp; pens<\/li>\n<li>Positive postcard<\/li>\n<li>Magnets<\/li>\n<li>and more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WSU-R staff will be delivering Advisor Thank You Boxes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We appreciate each and every community college advisor that we work with.
