That&#8217;s why we are holding a series of <strong>Coffee Talks: College Degree Q &amp; As <\/strong>so you can learn more about how to start, finish, or continue your education.<\/p>\n<p>WSU-R will hold five <strong>Coffee Talks: College Degree Q &amp; As <\/strong>sessions starting Oct. 11. Admissions Advisor, Sammie Eckerson will be hanging out at one of the local coffee shops listed below, providing information and advice, and answering your questions.<\/p>\n<p>She will also be handing out $5 gift cards while they last, for a free coffee drink.<\/p>\n<h3>Who should stop by?<\/h3>\n<p>Anyone who has thought about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0starting your education<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0finishing up your bachelor&#8217;s degree<\/li>\n<li>getting your graduate degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No matter where you are in the process; \u201ca fleeting thought that has run through my mind\u201d to, \u201ccome hell or high water I&#8217;m going to finish my degree!\u201d\u00a0 Or even if you&#8217;re simply gathering information for someone else, you will find these Coffee Talks valuable.<\/p>\n<h2>Flexible Drop-In Events<\/h2>\n<p>These are drop-in events. We understand your schedules are busy which is why finishing your degree in today&#8217;s world must also be flexible.<\/p>\n<p>Rochester is a great place to continue your education, and Sammie will share some of this data and information with you.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, did you know that a tremendous opportunity exists in Rochester and Southeast Minnesota for those who pursue an education in Social Work &#8211; one of the many majors offered right here in Rochester. Social Work is actually quite lucrative, especially in Minnesota. The medium Social Worker salary in Minnesota is $64,300. Getting or finishing your degree is a worthwhile investment\u00a0if you wish to increase your ability to earn money throughout your lifetime and advance in your career.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a lot of confusing chatter on social media about the value of a college degree, however, research shows that college graduates, on average, earned 56% more than high school grads, according to data compiled by the Economic Policy Institute, and the gap is accelerating.<\/p>\n<p>Transferring to a new college can seem messy and confusing, but it doesn\u2019t have to be.
