Make your workplace more equitable and inclusive in the new year! Diversifying your workforce through the implementation of a workforce participation plan will support long-term organizational success and can help make your business more competitive in today\u2019s economy. Increasingly such plans are required as part of the contract bidding process as municipalities and agencies work to ensure equitable opportunities for contractors and the workforce. Beginning in 2021, the City of Rochester<\/a> will require workforce participation plans<\/a> with bids on Destination Medical Center<\/a> projects.<\/p>\n

To help local businesses create and implement workforce participation plans, Winona State University Adult & Continuing Education<\/a> is partnering with the Destination Medical Center and the City of Rochester to provide a free online workshop with Sybil L. Dunlop, a national thought leader on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.<\/p>\n

Inclusive Workforce Practices: Why You Need a Workforce Participation Plan<\/a><\/strong> will be held online on January 20, 2021 from 2-3 PM. This professional workshop is aimed at CEOs, presidents, vice presidents, managers, recruiters, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion\/ Equal Employment Opportunity\/ Affirmative Action officers, and other human resource generalists and specialists across multiple sectors. Participants will learn how to make workforce diversity support organizational success. Registration for this workshop is required and may be done via Eventbrite<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Workforce diversification is a long-term success strategy for companies and communities. Contractors bidding on City of Rochester Destination Medical Center (DMC) projects are required to submit Workforce Participation Plans explaining how they will meet the workforce participation goals.<\/p>\n

  2. Learn the benefits of integrating actionable Workforce Workplans with your Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) to meet workforce participation goals.<\/li>\n
  3. Become aware of best practices from organizations with leading equitable and inclusive hiring practices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Sybil L. Dunlop<\/a>, a national thought leader on DEI issues, will be facilitating the workshop. Dunlop helped found Greene Espel\u2019s Diversity & Inclusion practice which helps workplaces design and implement DEI programs to meet organizational goals, and she has spoken on this topic to more than 100 audiences across the nation.<\/p>\n
