Dream come true, right? Here you can meditate, pray, do homework, color, or just simply relax.<\/p>\n<p>The relaxation room is\u00a0located\u00a0on the second floor of the IWC near\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.winona.edu\/counseling-services\/\">Counseling Services<\/a>, and is open 9am-2pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and\u00a0Friday, and Thursday 11am-2pm.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2954\" style=\"width: 218px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/wellness\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/10\/14555784_10209767601602847_1347449530_n.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2954\" class=\"wp-image-2954 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/wellness\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/10\/14555784_10209767601602847_1347449530_n-208x300.jpg\" alt=\"When I visited the Relaxation Room, I meditated and lounged in the recliners!\" width=\"208\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/wellness\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/10\/14555784_10209767601602847_1347449530_n-208x300.jpg 208w, https:\/\/blogs.winona.edu\/wellness\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2016\/10\/14555784_10209767601602847_1347449530_n.jpg 539w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 208px) 100vw, 208px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2954\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">When I visited the Relaxation Room, I meditated and lounged in the recliners!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I visited the Relaxation Room an hour between my classes and found the experience\u00a0very beneficial. Not only did my mind feel much clearer, but my body felt less stiff and I had better posture while I was in class. I tried out one of the meditation videos\u00a0in\u00a0the morning which was about 20 minutes long, and it\u00a0really warmed\u00a0up my muscles through yoga poses and I was able to clear\u00a0my mind with deep breathing. The Relaxation Room also provides after-class meditation as well, which guides you to unwind\u00a0from the stress built up throughout the day.\u00a0The space\u00a0provides time for reflection and recognition of stress and one&#8217;s\u00a0tense body after a long day of class.<\/p>\n<p>It is good to find a time to section off and focus on giving your mind and body a break.\u00a0Giving more attention to relaxation allows ones body to become aware of stress. Addressing this stress and getting rid of it can lead to many benefits such as better focus on homework, and improved decision making and memorization. Not only is relaxation an essential part of maintaining mental health, according to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/08\/14\/stress-awareness-day-relaxation-benefits_n_1424820.html\">listicle<\/a> in the Huffington Post, it allows for the body to physically improve as well, leading to clearer skin and\u00a0decreased\u00a0desire for unhealthy food.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to\u00a0take time out of your day and not think about homework, work, or any other tasks\u00a0that you have to complete that day or week.
