Because of this, I decided to move back home with my parents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This surely isn\u2019t how I pictured my final semester. But I like that I can complete my responsibilities remotely because I don\u2019t need to make regular trips to campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s easy to physically distance myself within my own household since there\u2019s only three of us\u2026 or four, if you include my cat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But even though I\u2019m not residing in the Winona community, I\u2019m still a Warrior. I also don\u2019t blame them for being upset at how much their college experience has changed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To give first-year Warriors the best experience possible, I frequently wash my hands and disinfect belongings I touch the most in spaces I spend a lot of my time. I also carry hand sanitizer with me wherever I go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adopting increased washing and sanitation in my daily routine at home helps me do these things automatically when I\u2019m on campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Although I can\u2019t control COVID-19, I can control what I do to fight it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_blurb][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;2_3,1_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_blurb title=&#8221;You can #CountOnMe to screen for COVID-19 symptoms.&#8221; content_max_width=&#8221;1100px&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Check Up&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_level=&#8221;h2&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If I forget something back in my residence hall room or I can\u2019t kick my craving for Panda Express or I just miss the bluffs and lake, I\u2019m prone to taking a road trip down to our college town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And when I do, I make sure to complete the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">self-assessment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> before stepping out of my car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I can\u2019t not do my part when answering the self-assessment questions takes less than a couple minutes. We all attend different colleges, so there\u2019s always something new to share and\/or vent about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But when I miss my Winona gang, I send regular \u201cHow are you?\u201d check-in texts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I never know if someone I love is having a difficult time unless I reach out to them. Sometimes, the simplest message can mean the world to someone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Otherwise, I don\u2019t have to worry about not knowing how my parents are doing because I see them every day.
