Wade being overturned, abortion services are still offered and protected in the state of Minnesota. It is a safe and effective way to end early pregnancy. The individual who is partaking in this method would use two different medicines; mifepristone and misoprostol. Since pregnancy relies on a hormone called progesterone to grow normally, the purpose of taking mifepristone is to block your body’s own progesterone (stopping the pregnancy from growing). In addition to that, the purpose of misoprostol is to empty your uterus. It causes cramping and bleeding, like a heavy period or the process of a miscarriage.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When do you take it?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n First, you should take the pill called mifepristone. Then you would take the second medicine, misoprostol, either right away or up to 48 hours later. However, if you do not experience bleeding within 24 hours of taking the second medicine, it is advised to call your doctor.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Depending on where you live, you can use this method for up to 11 weeks. After that, you may have to get an in-clinic abortion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n How effective is it?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The effectiveness depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy when you decide to take the medicine. If you are 8 weeks pregnant or less, it ranges from 94-98 out of 100 times the pregnancy is successfully terminated. For people who are 10-11 weeks pregnant, it works about 87 out of 100 times.
