Be open to talking about it<\/li>\n<li>Listen carefully and pay attention<\/li>\n<li>Ask questions<\/li>\n<li>Be non-judgmental, patient, calm, and accepting<\/li>\n<li>Express concern and support<\/li>\n<li>Be natural, be yourself<\/li>\n<li>Ask what you can do to help<\/li>\n<li>Recognize your boundaries<\/li>\n<li>Ask about suicidal thoughts and take them seriously<\/li>\n<li>Involve others if needed<\/li>\n<li>Suggest resources and offer to help<\/li>\n<li>Problem solve and create a plan for action<\/li>\n<li>Stay involved.
