Visiting campus is the best way for you to decide if Winona State University is the best fit for you.

Although things look a little different lately, we’re so excited to host you for our on-campus, in-person visits!

WSU Admissions currently hosts on-campus, in-person visits on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9am, 1pm and 3pm by reservation.

You can find a visit that works best for your schedule through our Visits Calendar. (Psst! We can help you schedule over the phone, too.)

During these visits, you’ll hear a Warrior Life & Admissions Presentation from an Admissions Counselor, a Housing Exploration from a Student Housing Guide, and a Campus Tour from a Student Ambassador.

Altogether, the visit lasts for about two hours.

A Couple Important Notes:

1. Masks are no longer required for your Admissions Campus Visit if you are vaccinated.  Masks are highly encouraged for unvaccinated individuals and those who feel more comfortable wearing one.

2. There is a strict 1 student : 1 supporter policy in place. This means you can bring one person with you–Mom or Dad, but not both. Or it could be one friend, one relative, or one other person. Please note all campus visitors must be 16 years old or older.

3. No walk-ins will be allowed, as reservations are required.

Curious what your on-campus, in-person visit experience will look like? Here’s what to expect from start to finish:

Upon your arrival, you’ll be asked to step into the restroom to wash your hands before beginning the check-in process. If possible, we ask that you try to arrive five-10 minutes before your visit time.

At the check-in table, you’ll then verify your name and contact information, including your address, email, and phone number. Your supporter will be asked to provide their name and contact information. (We ask for this information from you in the event that contact tracing becomes necessary).

Finally, when everything’s good to go, you’ll receive a WSU Swag Bag and an informational packet.

Warrior Life & Admissions Presentation

The Warrior Life & Admissions presentation kicks off your on-campus, in-person visit experience. It’s personally given by an Admissions Counselor and covers many aspects of Warrior Life, from financial aid and scholarships, to the five academic colleges, to the application process, and more!

Housing Exploration

A Student Housing Guide will bring you on an exploration of WSU’s many unique residence hall options, highlight the different amenities that make each hall special, and break down the application process.

Campus Tour

Now it’s time to see campus for yourself! The Admissions Counselor will divide the large group into smaller groups that will each go with a Student Ambassador for their campus tour.

Our Ambassadors will use voice amplifiers, so you can hear them clearly while still maintaining 6-feet of distance between yourself and other families throughout the tour.

Insider Tip: Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing because most of the campus tour takes place outside!

And That’s a Wrap!

At the end of your campus tour, you’ll meet back up with an Admissions Counselor on the Maxwell Hall lawn for any last-minute questions or conversations.

We hope you’ll pop over to the WSU Bookstore to take advantage of your 15% off coupon that you receive at check-in.

Looking for a bite to eat? We invite you to head over to Kryzsko Commons for the Jack Kane Dining Center (where one meal costs $8.84 + tax per person) or to Zane’s Food Court (which accepts regular cash, as well as credit and debit card).

Make sure to drive around town and check out your information packet for our suggestions of things to do and the must-see places in Winona.

As the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing, it’s important to note that the on-campus, in-person visit experience could be impacted by the campus safety levels. This means that access to residence halls and other campus buildings may be limited during the tours. Make sure to check for any updates in case your on-campus, in-person visit experience is impacted

If you have any questions before your arrival for your on-campus, in-person visit experience, you can always call the Admissions Office at 507.457.5100, email ad********@wi****.edu, or reach out to your personal admissions counselor

The Admissions Office will call you the afternoon before your scheduled visit to remind you of your reservation and to go over the Visit Guidelines, so you can have the best on-campus, in-person visit experience with Winona State University.
