The WSU Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those who have shown distinctive and exceptional ability as an athlete and in their lives on campus and post-graduation. Induction ceremonies will be held Oct. 25.

(Elizabeth) Liz Narten ’03 led the Warriors soccer team to regular season and tournament titles three times, and to its first NCAA Regional Tournament. She was the first player in WSU soccer history to earn All-American honors and was named NSIC Player of the Year in 2000.

Maureen Ryan-Giroux ’93 was a highly decorated WSU runner and held a dozen school records upon graduation. She led the WSU cross country team to a national championship, and qualified for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Championship three times, earning All-American honors during each.

Christopher Samp ’04 was a standout football player and holds several receiving records at Winona State. He led the team to four postseason appearances, earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Year, was a two-time All-American and a finalist for the Harlon Hill Award.

Daniel Samp ’75 was a member of the WSU baseball and football programs. He led the football program in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches, and earned All-Conference honors his senior year. Samp rallied the baseball program to three conference titles and played in the NAIA World Series.

Rachel (Seifert) Mihalic ’02 was the first Warrior softball player to earn All-American honors, and graduated with school records for batting average, hits, doubles, triples, home runs and RBI. She was a three-time All-NSIC honoree and led the Warriors to an NSIC Tournament title.

Daniel Thill ‘78 was a dominating force on the WSU football team, finishing his Winona State career with All-Conference honors as the program’s leading rusher. He also completed his football career with a WSU record for rushing and four 120-yard games.
