Believe it or not my fellow seniors, our time as Winona State undergrads has come to an end. The Warrior Hub, Alumni Relations, and Career Services have planned a brand-new Warrior Graduate Celebration to get ready for it!
“The Warrior Graduate Celebration event is a great time for WSU grads to prepare for their big graduation day. All the departments on campus are available to assist grads with their preparation for graduation,” says bookstore supervisor Karen Krause. It is important for all graduating seniors to attend this event because it provides everything needed to prepare to walk.
It will take place on Thursday, April 11 from 2:30-7:30pm in the East Room in Kryzsko Commons. There will be free t-shirts, food, prizes, a live DJ from KQAL, and special appearances from President Olson and Wazoo.
At this event, students can make sure their name is spelled correctly, pick up commencement tickets for their family, print out graduation announcements, pick up job search information, and find out what services are available to them once they become alumni. The WSU Bookstore will have all graduation materials as well as WSU clothing and giftware for a 20% discount during this event both online and in person.
For Rochester students who can’t make it to Winona, there will be an open house on the RCTC campus on Thursday, April 18 from 12-6pm.
Graduating seniors should not feel like they are leaving WSU because Alumni Relations and Career Services have many different events and services for alumni. “Whether that means networking at a social with other alumni in their community, volunteering at the local food shelf with other Warriors, or coming back and speaking in a classroom to current students, we can find activities that fit their wishes,” says Tracy Hale, associate director of Alumni Relations.
Make sure you visit the Alumni Relations website and follow Winona State University Alumni & Friends on Facebook and LinkedIn to stay up to date on upcoming opportunities for alumni!
“We want our alumni to know that there is always a place for them back ‘home’ in Winona. Come back often and don’t be afraid to share your success with us. Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior,’” says Hale.
