About the Event

Community Creative Achievement Day is a virtual symposium that unites WSU-Rochester and Graduate Studies students and faculty.

The first CCAD was held on April 16, 2020 at the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Though the inaugural event was initially planned to be held in-person at our WSU-Rochester on Broadway campus suite, we quickly moved to transform this event into a virtual symposium. The virtual format continues with our second annual CCAD.

At the event, Winona State University students and faculty will meet on Zoom to present their academic research and community service projects throughout the afternoon. They will also be answering community questions and joining in conversations about their work.

This year our theme for the symposium is A Prism of Possibilities During a Pandemic. This year’s event will begin with a keynote speech by Dr. Ashok Patel, a physician and consultant in pulmonary and critical care medicine for Mayo Clinic. Dr. Patel will be presenting on Comm-unity Engagement and Sustainable Development: Preparing for Inquiry, Discovery, and Eternity.
