Winona State University-Rochester announces the appointment of Kendra Weber as Director of Campus and Student Services.
As the Director, Weber will provide leadership and will continue Strengths-based work with the WSU-R team. Dr. Darrell Newton, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, showed his support for the vision of bringing more academic support to WSU-R. Provost Newton said, “A recent example of this effort is the approval of the new Director of Campus and Student Services position. Kendra, according to the position description, will develop, implement, and evaluate a broad range of services to student and non-student clientele, including recruitment, admission, advising, and overall customer service for WSU-Rochester students.”
Weber has been with Winona State University for eight years, serving as Director of Student and Community Engagement, and interim Director of Admissions. Her expansive career has spanned most areas of student affairs, including residence life, international student services, advising, recruitment, and general services. Before joining WSU, Weber served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota-Rochester, making this occasion her homecoming to Rochester’s higher education community.
Expressing her thoughts, Weber shared, “A hallmark of my career thus far has been taking positions that were newly created or revamped and bringing organization, excitement, and strategy to these new opportunities, and I believe I can do the same for Winona State Rochester. I have experience in leadership, recruitment, advising, and building management, and I understand the challenges and importance of creating strong relationships across campuses to leverage the services provided to students in a remote location while emphasizing the positive aspects of being a different type of environment.”
Weber has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mass Communications from St. Cloud University, Master of Science (MS) in Counseling and Student Personnel from Oklahoma State University, and completed coursework in the Doctor of Education (EdD) program at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
