Staying Low. Staying Strong.
For the fourth week in a row, our positive cases are down.
This past week’s reporting period, we’ve had 14 new positive cases (down from 23 the week before) and a total of 32 active positive cases, which is down from 49 active positive cases the previous reporting period.

Pandemic fatigue is real. But know that every step each member of our community takes to combat COVID makes a difference.
All that mask wearing, physical distancing, handwashing, self-assessing, quarantining and isolating keeps us safe and present on campus.
Your choices and your personal efforts make a difference! Stay strong, Warriors.

Post-Thanksgiving Break Changes
Thank you to the nearly 1,200 students who completed the Thanksgiving Break survey, and to Student Senate for developing and passing a resolution that outlined what students want the semester to look like after Thanksgiving.
The Decision
The majority of courses will move to online after Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 26-29) and will remain online through the end of Finals Week (Dec. 7-10). Exempt from this adjustment will be courses with necessary in-person activities (such as Labs, Performances, Field Experiences, Clinicals, and Practicums), which may require students to be on-campus to have the best possible learning experience.
Note: Residence Halls and other on-campus facilities and services will remain open and available after Thanksgiving Break.
Additional information will be shared in the coming days as the details of this plan are finalized, but we wanted to let you know now so that our campus can begin finalizing plans for the remaining weeks of Fall Semester.
Police Ticketing Parties
Until now, the City of Winona Police have taken an education approach to parties.
But after breaking up several large parties in college neighborhoods, as well as capacity issues and mask order violations at downtown bars, police announced they will begin ticketing this week.
Avoid Getting Tickets
- Don’t attend or host gatherings above the state limit of 10 indoors or 25 outdoors
- Wear a mask, stay physically distant
- If a space looks crowded or unsafe, choose to leave
Say Something
The stress of the pandemic can take a toll on our mental health. Check in with your fellow Warriors to help support one another.
It’s ok to have good days and bad days. It’s ok to be struggling. It’s ok to ask for help, and to be there for others when they need mental health support too.
WSU Counselor Mick Lynch encourages us to say something and offers guidance on How to Help Someone in Distress.
Pandemic-friendly Fun
Pandemic restrictions don’t have to mean limitations on fun. We’re excited to offer a new Esports Lounge in the lower level of Kryzsko Commons.
Our free, recreational gaming lounge is designed for both competitive and non-competitive video game players to have access to high-quality technology and most current PC and Nintendo Switch games, including Super Smash Bros, Madden 21, Fortnite, Call of Duty, and more.
As always, our Winona delivers. Twin Cities station KARE11 news’ “That’s So Minnesota” segment reminded us of all Winona has to offer.
From the world’s best donuts to world-famous art, take the weekend to explore and enjoy. #WeGetToLiveHere
Looking forward: Next week has a slate of Spirit Week activities, both in person — like Sunset Yoga, “Black Panther” movie showing, yard sign club fair and more – and social media events like a virtual talent show and medallion hunt.
It’s a great week to be a Warrior!
