Tonight, is the first official home football game! Are you ready, Warriors? Here is a checklist of six things you should do to embrace the full game day experience:

1. Finish your Homework Ahead of Time

I know this is total mom advice, but I think we can all agree that there is nothing more anticlimactic after a night of fun than having to come home to a boatload of homework. My advice is to be intentional throughout the day and finish all your homework before the game day festivities begin

2. Dress in Your School Spirit Attire

For most games, there will be a theme for the student section. Otherwise, you can never go wrong with purple!

3. Get Excited at the Warrior Game Day Experience

The Game Day Experience is an event that happens before every home game near the intersection of Johnson and Mark streets. There are often inflatables for all ages, local food trucks, giveaways, live music, gaga ball and more!

4. Walk with Wazoo

The Warrior Walk is like a procession where all Warrior fans walk to the stadium together, with Wazoo leading. The Warrior Walk will begin at 4:55 p.m.

5. Cheer on the Warrior Football Team

Let’s not forget that all this hype is not only to promote school pride and build community, but also to support the guys on the field.

Let’s create a student section culture this year that cheers and chants all the way through the game; until the very end. Let’s show as much support for our team as possible!

6. Watch the Halftime Show

For most games, the WSU dance team and cheerleaders will be performing during halftime. This is an upbeat routine that you will not want to miss! Let’s show support for their hard work too!

Attending WSU football games and other athletic events is a great way to be a part of the Warrior community. WSU junior, Samantha Johnson, shared in a recent blog about how she wishes she would have attended more sporting events on campus her freshman year.

You don’t want to miss out on these opportunities to embrace the full game day experience with your friends, and Wazoo, of course!

Be sure to mark your calendar for the upcoming  Warrior Game Day Experience opportunities!
