Every student at Winona State is unique, with different backgrounds and different future aspirations. But there’s one thing that can always bring us together–food!
Whether you’re a seasoned third-year looking for a reminder or an incoming Warrior craving an insider’s look at the menu, it helps to know your dining options on campus. Read on for all the tips and tricks on campus eats!
Everything You Need to Know about Dining Dollars & Meal Plans
Before I begin the chow breakdown, it’s important to understand your meal plan first.
Living On-Campus
All on-campus residents are required to have a meal plan. You can choose from either an unlimited meal plan or a plan with 14 meals per week.
Both meal plans include $200 Dining Dollars (AKA our on-campus currency), which can be used at other campus dining locations, including Zane’s in the lower level of Kryzsko Commons, Caribou Coffee in Somsen Café, and Einstein Bros. Bagels in Krueger Library.
Living Off-Campus
Block plan options include 75, 60, or 30 meals per semester, with the option to add 10 blocks if you run out. Both the 60 and 30 also come with Dining Dollars. Block swipes are good at any campus dining location!
Did You Know…
- You have the option to change your meal plan! The deadline to change your meal plan is 4:30pm Sept. 15 for Fall Semester and Feb. 1 for Spring Semester.
- If you misplace your student ID, don’t worry! You can use the GET app to display your I.D. picture and a temporary barcode to swipe your meal plan. (Download the GET app on Google Play or in the App Store.)
- Dining Dollars are a per semester amount. Any unused Dollars from Fall semester will carry over to Spring, but everything expires at the end of Spring semester. Use the GET app to keep track of your swipes and Dining Dollars.
- Low on Dining Dollars? All campus locations that accept Dining Dollars also accept cash, credit or debit, and Google or Apple Pay.
- Schedules vary for each campus dining location. Check out the schedule and never miss a meal!

Beyond the Greens
Pack your plate with lots of greens to have a healthy fill-up!
Opposite the salad bar is (ironically) the dessert bar with cookies, brownies and cake slices. We’ve also got a soft-serve ice cream machine and a few other ice cream flavors that are rotated daily. Talk about scoops ahoy!
Visit the center console for silverware and additional condiments needed to complete your dish.
My Pantry
Wish you had some toast on the side, or a bagel for breakfast?
Our fully-equipped toasting station might be just what you’re looking for. Choose from classics like PB&J and Nutella, or create your own waffle and top it off with fruit.
It’s a fact: sometimes cereal is all you need, no matter the time of day. Good thing we have a ton of rotating cereal options offered all day long.
Beverages & Dish Return
Quench your thirst with our wide selection of drinks, from juice and milk (including almond milk) to soda pop and fruit-infused water.
Finally, when your belly is full, dispose of your cups and plates (we won’t judge how many!) at the conveyor belt near the entrance.
So, are you ready to explore Jack Kane Dining Hall?
